Week 3: A good picture showing all the layers: the snake is shellacked, under his head you can see the red size around the white coils, and above the snake head you can see the gold leaf. This is the inside of the shield. The coils will be painted ivory, and Alan is going to paint a scene on the inside surface. A battle of some sort, I imagine.
