Remember that picture a little ways back - similar to this one, but above Athena's belt it showed shellac, and below it was the red size? Well here all is gilded. Notice how the gold throws a glow onto the underside of the scaffolding at the top of the picture. Smitty told me that is why old frames for paintings were made so wide, and then gilded. They would reflect any light back onto the painting. |
